overview

Novator is a business management software, developed to help organizations to manage business accounting, finances and digital documents, transforming all business processes into seamless and simple solution. The software is well-integrated with government bodies like the State Revenue Committee of Republic of Kazakhstan (the counterpart of IRS in USA). During my work on Novator, I was responsible for:
  • solving, transforming, strategizing and designing business requirements into modern-looking and user-centered web designs.
  • establishing the brand and designing presentations, brandbook, commercial proposals.
  • tesigning and improving UI KIT, creating well-structured figma components.
  • translating business workflows and objectives into functional and engaging web interfaces.

branding

Starting off with visual identity, I have been thinking what I draw to present as something as modern, simple and reliable that streamlines all workflow with ease and make the clients think about the product as trustworthy and fast sass product. In result, I chose a paper and bird. Paper represents all paperwork that organizations have to deal with, and the bird which symbolizes easiness and freedom of working with papers and organizational processes on Novator.

background

As the project has been started, we couldn’t afford to interview users due to budget constraints and lack of workforce. But there were only 2 companies that had a little time to spare to help us gather user insights. So all the business and design decisions were made from their opinions and my initial assumptions. At the start of project, as a solo UI/UX Designer, I was given a task to start designing from login and signup pages while developing our own UI KIT.

approach

I was working with a methodologist who sadly didn’t present diagrams of business processes but had to tell me what we want to achieve on site. Gladly, knowledge of frontend and backend helped me a lot throughout a project, I could solve the business problems and translate them into design. Here is one of examples, creating a contract document:

coding

The time I quit the company I left the landing page design which didn't get coded because the developers were busy with other tasks. So I decided to code frontend myself and show it how it should look like with animations. A stack I used: nextjs, tailwindcss and gsap.
